Ningdong brand diesel engine matches 10,000-meters-scale abyss scientific Mothership project
Recently, China's first 10,000-meters-scale unmanned submersible and lander “Rainbow Fish” successfully completed the 4,000-meter sea test in the South China Sea, marking the first substantive step for the Chinese to explore the 10,000-meter abyss. The project of this experiment is the first deep-sea equipment developed by the Abyss Scientific Research Center. The whole project consists of three deep-sea "landers", a 10,000-meter deep-sea "unmanned submersible", a 10,000-meter deep-sea "manned submersible" and a 5,000-ton scientific research Mothership "Zhangqian".
After months of investigation and communications, the Ningdong Brand N210 diesel engine produced by Ningbo C.S.I. Group is used as the main propulsion power and power generation equipment of the project. Ningdong N210 series diesel engine has the characteristics of new design concept, good balance and good power performance. The design details of suspended crankshaft, main bearing of "0" gear and flame ring play a great role in reducing vibration, improving gear rotation speed, increasing air tightness and reducing oil consumption. This type of engine can use heavy oil as fuel and has advanced performance indicators, reliable work, easy maintenance, flat fuel consumption curve, low cost performance.
A few days ago, the Ningdong brand diesel engine and scientific research Mothership project has successfully completed the sea test. According to the plan, the first voyage of the Silk Road will be started in July 2016. From August to September, the deep-sea unmanned submersible and lander will be tested in the 11,000-meter Mariana Trench. From the Antarctica to the Arctic in 2017 will be held "Exploration of the Polar Abyss". In 2019, the deep manned submersible will impact the ultimate challenge of the 11,000-metre Mariana Trench. Manned challenges will be attempted in 2020. In the follow-up projects, Ningbo C.S.I. will further track the use of diesel engines, as in the past to do a good job in the after-sales service of the main engine and gen-sets.
